
About the Author
Michael Heberling is the Chair of Leadership Studies in the Baker College MBA program in Flint, Michigan. Prior to this, he was president of Baker’s Center for Graduate Studies for 16 years. Before Baker, Dr. Heberling was a Senior Policy & Business Analyst with the Anteon Corporation. He also had a career in the Air Force retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He had 1500 hours flying time in the B-52 Stratofortress Bomber as a navigator/bombardier. His last assignment was with the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson AFB where he served as head of the Graduate Acquisition Management Department.
He received his bachelor's degree and officer commission at Cornell University. Dr. Heberling also has an MS degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a PhD degree in Production and Operations Management from Michigan State University.
Dr. Heberling served on the Executive Board of the Council of College and Military Educators and was their National President (2013-14). He was an institution accreditation evaluator for the Higher Learning Commission (2009-2015). He is currently on the Board of Scholars for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies.
Dr. Heberling has over 75 business and public policy publications. His research interests focus on leadership, military history and the impact of public policy on the business community. He is a member of the FEE Faculty Network.
